Why go to camp?
AATSP-GA Spanish Immersion Camp is a weekend where students from around the State of Georgia gather for a unique immersion learning experience. Students are immediately surrounded by others who are committed to using SPANISH ONLY for the duration of camp. While daunting, the pay-off is one of a kind. Students leave Sunday exhausted, but unable to shake the Spanish. Everyday Spanish use is no longer an unattainable goal. Students make connections and grow in language proficiency in a way that would take years in a classroom setting. Make Spanish come alive today with us at Spanish Immersion Camp!
What happens at camp?
It is impossible to describe everything that happens at Spanish Immersion Camp. On Friday night, students get to know their fellow group members while creating banners to show group spirit and singing around a bonfire. On Saturday, students rotate through several workshops where they have fun dancing, playing sports, making crafts, playing games, and more - all in Spanish! On Saturday night, students get to celebrate their strengthened language abilities with a Carnaval dance and talent competition. On Sunday, students show off everything they've learned to their parents and peers at our Closing Ceremony.
